Pneumology

Pneumology deals with diseases affecting the bronchial tubes and lungs. Patients usually suffer from respiratory problems.

 

Tobacco, pollution and allergies can significantly harm the respiratory tract which explains why it is a "modern" specialty.

Asthma involves contraction of the respiratory tract and wheezing. Asthma can occur while resting or doing physical exercise. There is allergic asthma and non-allergic asthma.

Depending on the gravity, various types of asthma exist. In general, asthma consists of 4 stages; there are specific treatments for each stage.
